CALLING ALL VOCALISTS!
East Bay a capella chamber chorus Sacred & Profane has openings for voices in all sections (SATB)! Auditions for our 2018-2019 season are available this Summer. S&P is in special need of male voices, women’s spots are limited, but all are welcome to audition . If you are an experienced singer with a healthy voice & a great attitude, please join us for 2018-2019, our 41st Season. Auditions available by appointment.
Concerts will take place in Berkeley and San Francisco. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings 7:30-10 PM in downtown Oakland ( a few blocks from 12th St. BART), with one additional Wednesday and one Saturday rehearsal per set. Dress rehearsals occasionally fall mid-week as well.

by Victoria, Grieg, Olsson, Poulenc, Kverno, Shawn Crouch, Nico Muhley, Jonathan Dove, and Fredrik Sixten.
The American Landscape — Traditional Music of our Diverse Heritage
Featuring Paul Chihara, Amish songs arranged by Mark Templeton, African American spirituals arranged by Hogan, Gibbs, and Dilworth, songs of the Sacred Harp and Quaker traditions arranged by Jocelyn Hagen, Alice Parker, and Shawn Kirchner.
Musique de la Femmes — works composed by living women
We celebrate the remarkable body of music for a cappella choir by the world’s living women composers, including music by Tina Andersson, Gabriela Lena Frank, Karin Rehnqvist, Alice Parker, Libby Larsen, Ysäya Barnwell, Carol Barnett, and Alissa Fisova.
About Sacred & Profane
Founded in 1977, S&P is a chamber chorus that performs a wide variety of choral music. Concert repertoire includes sacred and secular works from the middle ages to the contemporary period, drawing from classical, ethnic, and folk traditions, with an emphasis on a cappella repertoire. We aim to provide an inspiring and educational experience for audiences and chorus members through innovative programming, intensive preparation and high quality performances. S&P is composed of approximately 24 singers (SATB), each bringing a high level of experience & musicianship to the chorus.
