An opportunity to perform Handel’s “Messiah” during the season will be available as well, along with other solo opportunities. COMPENSATION: As an Artist-in-Residence, you will receive a total compensation package of $75.00 for one FULL (Dress) Rehearsal and the Mass itself. Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday will include bonus pay; a total compensation of $125.000 for the FULL (Dress) Rehearsal and Mass.
MASS: The Regina Coeli Choir provides liturgical and sacred music for selected masses throughout the choir season (2019 – 2020); a detailed schedule of masses can be found in the Regina Coeli Choir Mass Schedule 2019 – 2020 document.
REHEARSAL: The Regina Coeli Choir will generally have one FULL (Dress) Rehearsal prior to the mass they are scheduled to sing for. At that rehearsal, we will go over all of the music for the mass in its entirety. A “Warm Up” rehearsal will take place 30 minutes prior to the start of the mass we are scheduled to sing for.
MUSIC: All music for the choir will be distributed well in advance of any scheduled masses we are singing for. It is the responsibility of the Artist-in-Residence to have learned all of their music prior to coming to any rehearsals for the choir.
MASS ATTIRE: When singing for masses, the choir will be dressed entirely in black.
AUDITION PROCESS: Auditions may be scheduled with the Director of Liturgy and Music at mutual convenience. Please prepare one solo piece of your choosing that is sacred nature, which must be sent ahead to the Director of Liturgy and Music for adequate preparation. The remainder of the audition will consist one sight singing exercise and a brief discussion about the position and the candidate’s musical background.
