The Encore Young Artists Program serves to provide professional-level performance and educational opportunities for singers at the start of their career. Unlike the majority of young artist programs which focus on opera, the Encore Young Artists Program focuses on concert, oratorio, early music, and choral music performance. As such, the program is unique in the tri-state area. Applications are accepted annually, and the majority of EYAs have studied voice to the graduate level. There are usually four EYA’s at any one time – soprano, alto, tenor, and bass.
Objectives of the EYA program:
1. To nurture the next generation of professional singers in performance of concert, oratorio, opera, and early music repertoire.
2. To provide education for the EYAs and the wider community through public masterclasses with world-class instructors.
3. To equip singers with tools necessary for success in the concert arena, including photo, video/audio footage, press exposure, and professional contacts.
A stipend is paid for this position.
All applications are due July 26th. For more information on audition requirements visit http://www.arsmusica.org/encore/apply-to-be-an-encore-young-artist/
