SWINDON, UK — THAMESDOWN La-dies Choir is looking for its own Gareth Malone.
Ideally they’re looking for Gareth himself, but as the celebrity choirmaster’s schedule almost certainly rules him out of the running, they promise a warm welcome to anybody with the right qualifications.
Thamesdown Ladies Choir, or TLC for short, was formed in 1975 as The Thamesdown Singers. Over the years the choir has grown from about 20 members to more than 80, and its live performances have raised many thousands of pounds for all manner of good causes.
To its members, the choir is more than a group of singers. Talk to one of them for any length of time and you soon realise it’s also a support network; a guaranteed non-judgemental antidote to the stresses of life outside.
