Westminster Abbey choir to sing at royal wedding

April 27, 2011 by Richard Allen Roe Leave a Comment

The Choir of Westminster Abbey is about to live up to its
reputation as world-renowned.

With a TV audience stretching around the globe, the young boys
will have some of the best seats in the house as they sing at the
wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The Master of the Choristers, James O’Donnell, told Reuters that
there will be some original music sung for the occasion.

“Some of the music has been specially composed and arranged for
the service and everything is being kept quite nicely under wraps
at the moment, so there’s a nice sense of surprise – I hope
pleasant surprise,” O’Donnell said.

The choir for the wedding will consist of 20 boys and 12 adults.
In addition to their regular singing duties at the Abbey, they do
extensive touring, participate in several music festivals, and have
many albums to their credit.
