Philip Freneau (1752-1832) the “Poet of the American Revolution,” Princeton alumnus, friend of presidents Jefferson and Madison,
was among the earliest American “Men of Letters.” This mostly homophonic SATB setting (3:30) of his charmng poem can be nicely
performed by well-trained high school and community choirs.
All my works are written in Sibelius, so professional copies are readily available.
