Sunday, March 17, 4 pm: Immerse yourself in an afternoon of glorious music — from the Duruflé “Requiem” to Poulenc’s “Organ Concerto” — with The Reston Chorale, Piedmont Symphony Orchestra and Organists David B. Lang and Paul Skevington. Guest artists also include Gloria Parvin, mezzo soprano, and Robert Quittmeyer, baritone.
The setting will be Saint Luke Catholic Church in McLean, Virginia, known for its exceptional acoustics and grand 61 rank Steiner-Reck pipe organ. Other works include excerpts of the Pergolesi “Stabat Mater” and premieres of two choral compositions: Allan Laino’s “Gloria” (world premiere) and Maarten Spruijt’s ethereal “Thurémin” (DC premiere).
Tickets are $0-$30 at www.RestonChorale.org.
