The Power of Song – Sing That Thing!

April 6, 2016 by Patricia Alvarado Leave a Comment

Today, more than 40 million Americans sing with a choir, a cappella, chorus or other music group. Inspired by these numbers WGBH launched Sing That Thing!, a local series showcasing New England’s best amateur groups in a friendly competition that celebrates the diversity of song.

After a successful 2015 debut, Sing That Thing! is back with 8 new episodes featuring singing teams competing in the high school, college and adult categories.

Join host Anthony Trecek-King (president and artistic director of the Boston Children’s Chorus) and coaches Jared Bowen (WGBH Arts Editor), Larry Watson (Berklee College of music professor, vocalist, and producer), and Annette Philip (Berklee College of Music Assistant Professor, vocalist, composer and member of Women of the World) in April and May.

Sing That Thing! airs on WGBH Boston, NHPTV and VertmontPBS on Fridays at 8:30pm; WGBY Springfield on Saturdays at 4:30pm, CPTV – Connecticut on Saturdays at 7:30pm, MPBN – Maine on Sundays at 5:00pm.
