Thanksgiving/Fall Gratitude Round by Adam Paltrowitz

This is a fun Thanksgiving round that was created to focus on specific articulation. 

It can be sung in unison, two parts, or four parts.

It’s always a victory when a piece of music can be fun and also a learning tool!

If you are looking for a song for Thanksgiving that is useful and productive, this Thanksgiving/Fall Gratitude Round is for you.

This tricky round focuses on the “th” consonant, that has two different sounds. By making students hyper-aware of the “th” each time and teaching them how to position their tongue, students will improve their diction.

This round can be sung throughout the fall season as it makes no direct mention of Thanksgiving. Also, it is a great choice for a performance and it is written with a beautiful ending chord, naturally infused into the round.

If sung in a mixed choir it is recommended to be sung first in unison. Next, the suggested entrance order would be: Bass, Soprano, Alto, Tenor. This will allow for the best ending.

The “Th” sound is often not fully voiced properly. This round is a great tool to focus on this concept. The “tr” and “ch” are two often confused consonants; they should sound different. This is the focus of the Trick or Treat Round.
