MT VERNON, WA — Choir classes at Mount Vernon High School teach more than just music, said senior Kyle Mitchell. For Mitchell, who’s been in choir since freshman year, the class has developed him “in a weird way,” he said. He’s developed as a leader and his confidence has increased.
“Choir is the kind of place where you can feel something bigger than yourself,” he said. The high school has eight different choirs, ranging from beginner to advanced and has grown to 273 students since numbering about 80 students in 2005.
