CARDIFF, WALES — HE had a kidney transplant that saved his life more than three decades ago – but spent years thinking it had come from the victim of a plane crash.
But after finding out it came from a 12-year-old boy who died tragically in a bike accident, Paul Silcox has dedicated a piece of music to the family of the young donor who saved his life.
And Brecon male voice choir – in which he is a top tenor – dedicated it to the donor and his family.
The plan is to release that as part of an album on March 8 – World Kidney Day – to raise money for charity.
“It seemed like a very natural thing to do,” said Paul. The result has been a really moving piece of music which we hope will go some way to explaining just how thankful we are.”
