September Sing

August 20, 2016 by jromano Leave a Comment

On Sunday September 11, 2016 at 4PM The Fairfield County Chorale will kick off its 54nd season with A SEPTEMBER SING featuring selections from Verdi Requiem and Faure Requiem at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Southport. In this event the Requiems will be sung under the baton of David Rosenmeyer, Music Director of The Fairfield County Chorale. Maestro Rosenmeyer, in addition to leading the singing, will also offer interesting insights into the history of the composers and the works.

It is open to accomplished singers, people who enjoy singing and anyone who might like to try. Absolutely no experience is necessary. Anyone wishing to listen is also welcome.

Stay for a wine and cheese reception, where you can meet chorale members, chat with our music director, and find out about our upcoming season!

Our 2016-2017 Season will include Verdi’s Requiem on March 4, 2017 with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, as well as Handel Dixit Dominus, Vivaldi Gloria and our traditional Holiday Sing-a-Long on December 11, 2016 and Faure Requiem on May 13, 2017.

The Trinity Episcopal Church in Southport is at 651 Pequot Avenue, Southport, CT  06890. The Church is 2 blocks south of I-95 at Exit 19.

Admission is $10 at the door, music rental is included.  A wine and cheese reception will follow the event.
