CHARLOTTE, NC — Bob Ballentine, 79, is a retired Duke University psychology professor. Bill Williams, 89, moved to Charlotte from Savannah, Ga. after a career in the Navy. Doris Morgan, 86, used to be the organist for the Charlotte Coliseum and also played the piano at Nordstrom’s at Southpark Mall. All three now live at the Cypress of Charlotte, a senior living community in South Charlotte.
But they share something more than where they have chosen to settle in their retirement years.
Ballentine, Williams and Morgan are also members of the Cypress Singers, a choral group comprised of 30 Cypress residents, most of whom are in their 80s and a few of whom are in their 90s.
