WANGANUI, NZ — An anthem written for the Rugby World Cup by two 15-year-old Auckland girls was performed for the first time publicly by the 24-strong choir of New Zealand Opera school students in the Collegiate Chapel yesterday.
Eleanor Lang and Stephanie Townend’s winning song, was a finalist in the national songwriting competition for young composers in August to celebrate the Rugby World Cup.
Our Home, sung yesterday by the opera students has also been recorded on the album Anthem In Black 2011 [Soundtrack of a Nation].
