Chorus America is delighted to announce that Dr. André Thomas is generously donating a new composition to support Chorus America.
We are forming a consortium of choruses to contribute toward the purchase of this commission and then share the commission (and printed dedication) equally. This will be a 3-4 minute, SATB piece, unaccompanied, based on a text of Dr. Thomas’s choosing. All proceeds go to support Chorus America’s programs and services, which include providing invaluable information for choruses, management tools, conducting masterclasses, cutting-edge research, and greater visibility for the choral field.

The Details: Participating choruses will receive the completed piece by January 2012 – with enough printed copies for each of their singers – and can premier the work in their communities during spring and summer 2012. The piece will be available to the public for performance as of September 1, 2012.
