SPRING, TX —

After 17 years as the head choral director at Spring High School, Denise Eaton will take on a new role teaching choral methods at Sam Houston State University and conducting the women’s choir.

Eaton will also be a full-time choral editor for Carl Fischer Music Publishing.

“I’ve always been fascinated with the art of teaching and how students learn,” Eaton said.

“Whether it was singing or personal life, she always helped us with whatever we needed to make us better people and better singers,” he said.

Gina Wilson, SHS choir board publicity chair and parent, said Eaton is not only an inspiration to her son, but countless others in the program.

The students “respect her so much, and that’s why the program is so well renown in the Houston area.

Eaton recently completed classes at Sam Houston and after completing her oral exam will receive her Masters degree.
