I am pleased to announce the release of “Carols, distinctive arrangements for women’s voices” – an exciting and eclectic set of of eighteen Christmas carols, variously for a cappella or with 1-2 instruments.
“Carols” presents truly distinctive and varied Christmas repertoire for HS, college, and community women’s ensembles which will engage singers and audiences alike. Ranging from SA through SSAA voicings, it will be a valuable addition to your music library which can be revisited each holiday season. Carols is also suitable for advanced youth treble choirs.
Selections in English, Latin, French, German, and Spanish range from easy to learn processionals and short pieces suitable for madrigal dinners, to more elaborate settings of great Christmas texts/music. Audiences will enjoy a delightful new, easy a cappella arrangement of “We wish you a merry Christmas” as well as a gorgeous, lushly expressive setting of “What Child is this?” for SSA and harp. Classics texts such as “Lullay, mine liking” and “Adam lay ybounden” receive fresh, new (moderately challenging) a cappella treatment while charming tunes such as “Sweet was the song the Virgin sung” or “Quelle est cette odeur agréable” are presented in gracious, lyrical arrangements.
Other titles include Personent hodie, Gaudete, Es ist ein Ros entsprungen, O Magnum Mysterium, In dulci jubilo, The angel Gabriel from Heaven came, Make we joy now in this fest, and more.
Until October 31st, 2013 “Carols” is available at the introductory rate of $14.95 per copy (regular list $19.95). Orders can be paid through Paypal, through Paypal using a credit or debit card, or I can create a standard invoice for your school or organization. The book will also be available soon though an exclusive agreement with Musical Resources of Ohio, one of the country’s leading music retailers. A portion of all sales will fund a grant program which will aid women’s choirs in their community outreach/social awareness programs. Beginning in January 2014 women’s choirs will be invited to submit a streamlined application to apply for this yearly grant.
