New Hope-Solebury & Lambertville Community Choir
Concert in Carversville
The New Hope-Solebury & Lambertville Community Choir concludes its fifth season with a concert entitled “Blessings” on Sunday afternoon, June 4 at 3:00 p.m. at Carversville Christian Church, 3736 Aquetong Rd. in Carversville. The choir, led by local musician, composer, and conductor Rick Rosen, is made up of singers from the immediate and surrounding area, and is open to one and all.
NHSLCC’s “Blessings” program presents a wide variety of choral music, with performances from the full choir and from individual choir members as well. Concert music spans the centuries, covers a wide range of types and styles, and includes traditional music as well as compositions from Joseph Haydn, James Taylor, Charles Tindley, Charles Osborne, Giacomo Puccini, Stephen Stills, Jean Berger, George Gershwin and more.
Since its inception in September of 2012, the New Hope-Solebury & Lambertville Community Choir has functioned as a true grass-roots community choir program – the choir is non-audition, made up of members of the community and the immediate surrounding area, rehearsing weekly. Members of the group come from virtually all walks of life, joined together in the spirit of music and community. In addition to singing a regular yearly concert schedule, the Choir’s community outreach efforts have resulted in a growing number of performances in area nursing homes, senior residences, and rehab centers.
Tickets for “Blessings” are $10.00. They can be purchased from Community Choir members, or at the door. To reserve tickets in advance, telephone NHSLCC at 650.219.2748, or make contact online at www.nhslchoir.org, or on Facebook.
