Dear all,
I have just completed a new anthem that is very simple, short, and yet very beautiful that is also about praising God and coming together to worship. Perfect for an introit, and very fanfare-esque. It has an imitative (fugue-like) entry. It is written in the old Northeastern style of polyphonic music.
Here is the text:
Oh, praise the Lord in unityFor none hath done such works as He!Oh, let us sound the praiseWhich unto God belongs; Our voices high we’ll raisein pray’r and grateful songs.Through all the earth the sound is sent,His name alone is excellent.Oh, praise our blessed Lord! All saints of earth, sing praise!Oh, praise Him for His love,His grace, and wondrous ways!
