GRANVILLE, OH — Beginning this past week’s rehearsal of Vintage Voices with a call for announcements, Chuck Beck got his singers’ attention by using the summer camp jingle: “A-NOWN-SMENTS, A-NOWN-SMENTS, A-NOW-OWN-SMENTS.”
Since taking over direction of the group last fall, Beck has used his humor and theatrical style to establish a rapport with the 65 to 70 members of the group.
Before Beck took over, the group had known only one director, its founder, Teddy Westlake, who formed it 12 years earlier.
Vintage Voices is open to area residents without need for an audition, but they must be at least 50 years old.
