SALT LAKE CITY — The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is giving one lucky person the opportunity to become a guest conductor and they’re turning to Facebook and YouTube to help them find someone. The guest conductor of the world-famous 360-person choir doesn’t have to be a professional, but someone with creativity.
“We’re looking for all comers who want to conduct. They don’t have to be professional conductors at all. We’re just looking for creativity,” said Mike Jensen, Director of Communications for Deseret Book. Participants need provide a 60-second clip of them conducting Ode to Joy, then uploading it to YouTube. Those videos will the go up for voting on the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s Facebook page and the top 10 entries will be presented to the choir for selection.
