MILWAUKEE — Marco Melendez will take over as the new artistic director for the Milwaukee Children’s Choir in September and lead the 2012-13 season.  Melendez, 27, began his career as a member of the American Boychoir, performing in Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Center. At age 15 he was named the music director of the San Angelo Singing Boys of San Angelo in Texas. He also directed the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choirs.

He is the recipient of the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts annual merit award.
