Shiki (Four Seasons)
Four haiku of Santoka Taneda (Japanese)
A cycle on haiku by a 20th century Japanese monk Taneda. In the music the composer wished to convey absolute stillness at the heart of each scene, a communion with the outer world, as if the viewer were drawing the landscape into him, and at the same time dissolving himself into it.
Huron Carol (‘Twas the Moon of Wintertime) (arr.)
An old Canadian song by Jean de Brébeuf (English).
Aattoilta (Christmas Eve)
Text: Ester Ahokainen (Finnish)
A new Christmas Song recently recorded by BIS and reviewed in the Gramophone.
