Chorus organization, London, Ontario, Canada. Board Chair John Comiskey recently announced Mr. Holler’s acceptance of the post after an extensive international search which began in November 2011. Mr. Holler will conduct the one hundred member Fanshawe Chorus London and The Gerald Fagan ingers chamber choir. He will also conduct the fifty-five member Concert Players orchestra.
“It is a great honour to be chosen as the successor to Gerald Fagan
for these two wonderful choirs in the London area. I look forward to
working with all these talented people and will do my best to continue
the tradition of choral excellence that Gerald and Marlene Fagan have
established,” said Mr. Holler from his home in St. Catharine’s, Ontario.
Mr. Holler is currently the Conductor of the University of Toronto’s
Men’s Chorus and Assistant Conductor of the faculty’s elite choir, The MacMillan Singers.
Doctorate of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting with Dr. Hilary
Apfelstadt. Holler is also the Conductor of the Mohawk College
Community Choir. His musical career includes a long performance
history as a tenor soloist, degrees from the University of Western
Ontario and Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, as
well as a private music instructor.
Retiring Conductor Gerald Fagan commented that “the appointment of
David Holler heralds a new chapter in the growth of music in our
community. David comes to London equipped with excellent background,
fine musicianship and unbounded enthusiasm. I wish him every success
in his years with this amazing organization. London will embrace him
as it sees his fine talents.”
Mr. Holler began his work with the organization on June 1, 2012 in preparation
for the 2012-2013 concert seasons.
The Chorus Board also announced Jennifer Fagan‘s appointment as
General Manager of the organization. Jennifer brings a history of arts
administration and management including seven years as an assistant in
the Fanshawe Chorus London office. She is Founder and Director of her
own KidzRock Theatre, teaching school-age children the art of musical
theatre.
