Vidimus Stellam by Kevin Siegfried
ECS Publishing #8634
I’m excited to announce the publication of Vidimus Stellam (We Have Seen His Star), a Christmas cantata in five movements for SATB chorus and brass quintet or organ.
Originally commissioned by ChoralArt of Portland, Maine and four commission partners (Capitol Hill Chorale, Georgetown University Concert Choir, Manchester Choral Society, National Lutheran Choir), Vidimus Stellam bears the stamp of many friends, colleagues, and choral groups who have helped to shape the work through performances and workshops over the past few years.
The cantata is set to five Latin texts organized around the theme of light, and is written in the tradition of the Christmas Cantata by my dear teacher and mentor Daniel Pinkham.
Perusal versions of both choral and full scores are available at this link. https://ecspublishing.com/catalog/product/view/sku/8634*
And a scrolling score perusal with audio is available on YouTube.
