Kakadu – from the Australian Destinations series is a flowing, melodious song in D major with ‘easy to learn’ words and rhythm. It teaches harmonic blending and unison singing, question and answer techniques and explores the vocal and dynamic range of the voice. The image of being a bird flying around in a carefree environment may appeal to children of all ages. This piece works well for massed choir events.
I’d like to be a bird at Kakadu,
Kakadu, and be so free.
I’d feel the sun upon my wings,
I’d feel so far from everything
and I would fly away with you… Sherelle Eyles
Suitable for children of all ages, “Kakadu” is available for either SA & piano or Unison & Piano.
