SAN ANTONIO, TX — For John Donohue, music was a constant throughout his life. His musical endeavors began as a tenor performing in his high school choir and peaked as a choir director who traveled the world.
Donohue served as choir director with Beethoven Maennerchor, Chorgemeinschaft Texas and Southern district of the North American Saengerbunde.
He performed abroad in Russia and Germany, while domestically he led a 58-person choir in concerts that journeyed from California to New York.
A unique display of Donohue’s devotion to music could be seen at his home.
“He loved music so much that our swimming pool is designed like a grand piano,” his wife, Shirley Donohue, said.
