On March 24, the Indianapolis Children’s Choir (ICC) led by ICC Founder and Artisitic Director Henry Leck, shared the stage for the first time with the Purdue Varsity Glee Club, led by Director William Griffel.
Never before have these two world-renowned choral groups performed together! The day began with a winter weather advisory in downtown Indianapolis, but held off long enough that both the 3pm and 7pm concerts went along as scheduled at the Hilbert Circle Theatre. These concerts, part of the ICC’s Building a Life Through Song 2012-2013 concert series, were an opportunity to hear choral artistry at its very finest. The concerts included the Indianapolis Youth Chorale, (ICC’s mixed-voice high school choir led by Director Cheryl West) that just returned from the ACDA national convention in Dallas, where they were the only choir to represent the state of Indiana.
The concert included three ICC alumni who now perform with the Purdue Varsity Glee Club, as well as ICC Assistant Artistic Director Josh Pedde, ICC Director of Education Ruth Dwyer and the Purdue Varsity Glee Club Assistant Director and Pianist Ted Arthur.
