Gordon Thornett’s beautiful “Star of the East” for SATB chorus with piano or organ accompaniment is now available in print from Swirly Music.
From the composer:
This is a new setting of Reginald Heber’s Epiphany poem, “Brightest and best of the sons of the morning.” It was written for the Boys’ Choir of the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, Norway, and first performed by them in December 2012. It is reflective in character, underlining the beauty of the poetry.
