Georgetown High School alumni revive chorus

GEORGETOWN, NC — Getting into the Georgetown High School Glee Club was a big deal when Calvinette Sheperd attended the school in the 1960s.

Now, through her participation in the newly formed Georgetown High School Alumni Choir, she is able to relive her Glee Club memories with friends from way back when.

“It was one of the biggest things to look forward to in your ninth grade year — you had to audition … and if you got in it was a big wow, because you got to go different places and do concerts,” said Sheperd, who said she was thrilled when she was accepted as a Glee Club member. “Now I am very excited they asked me to be the director of the (Georgetown High School Alumni Choir).”
