In celebration of its 25th anniversary, last year the Indianapolis Children’s Choir set out to commemorate the year by producing a documentary highlighting several alumni and the impact their ICC experience had on them. “Lives in Tune: The Legacy of the Indianapolis Children’s Choir” takes a brief look at the history of the ICC, then takes viewers on a journey with alumni from all walks of life.
“More than just music” is a theme woven throughout, as the effect of being in the choir, even decades later, is told through enlightening interviews, archival footage and of course, beautiful music.
Since 1986, ICC founder and artistic director Henry Leck has set artistic excellence as the only acceptable standard. Through a passion for music, a supportive community and an unwavering belief that children were capable of great things, this is a story of how lives were changed forever.
The film was produced by SceneStream Video. “Lives in Tune is the story of 25 years of choral excellence; 25 years of vision that culminated beyond a man’s wildest dreams; 25 years of children that were developed into exceptional adults. I was thrilled to be able to tell this story,” says Matthew Hill, Managing Producer of SceneStream.
The program is airing this week in all of the Indiana PBS markets this week. You can watch it here at http://vimeo.com/20668087
