The 2012 World Choir Games are over. The singing has ceased. Next stop for the Games: 2014 in Latvia.
Before the ceremonial final bell rang on Cincinnati’s choral olympics, the Queen City bid the Games and their participants farewell during Saturday night’s official 2-hour, 10-minute long Closing Ceremony at U.S. Bank Arena before a crowd of 11,803.
Musical accompaniment was provided by the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, May Festival Chorus – and the audience. Cincinnati said goodbye in the manner this inspiring event and its hopeful singers – representing 365 choirs (an Indonesian ensemble just arrived Saturday) from 64 countries – so richly deserved.
