The GRAMMY-winning Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir is on a tour of the United States, with performances in Indiana (tonight), New Jersey, North Carolina, Virginia, Arizona, California, and Florida. The dates, locations, and repertoire are on the EPCC website, at http://www.epcc.ee/en/concerts-en/ .
I’d like to specifically highlight the concert in Phoenix, AZ at 7:30 p.m. on Valentines Day, as it is a fund-raiser by “Classical Arizona PBS,” which records local classical music events, including some for broadcast on local PBS and NPR affiliates. The choir, conducted by Kaspars Putninš, will perform works by Arvo Pärt, Petr Tchaikovsky, Veljo Tormis, and Jean Sibelius. The venue is Camelback Bible Church in Paradise Valley, which has some of the best acoustics in Arizona, and is a site used for both performances and recording sessions by the Phoenix Chorale. On the following night (Wed., February 15) the choir will perform in Tucson, at the Berger Center for Performing Arts.
VIP, Adult, and Student tickets are available at http://www.asufoundation.org/classicalAZPBS and you can find the event’s sponsor on Facebook as “Classical Arizona PBS.”
