DILUVIUM (TTBB) by Ivo Antognini now available

Dear conductors,

Diluvium” is a TTBB piece (with some divisi…) and was commissioned by a wonderful Swiss male choir, Männerstimmen Basel.
The text is from a poem by Sebastian Brant, a German humanist and poet born in 1457.
It’s about a great flood that took place in Switzerland in the Middle Ages.
This beautiful text in Neo-Latin has inspired me a lot. I imagined myself as an eyewitness to this great flood, feeling the fear and terror of the people who knew that the water would arrive at any moment and would submerge the city. So, I tried to translate these emotions into music, and I really hope that you will be able to feel them too when the choir sings “DILUVIUM.”

Here you can watch the Männerstimmen Basel

Here you can purchase the score

Enjoy!
