NORWAY, MI – Dawn Kranz, choral director and music specialist
at the Norway-Vulcan Area Schools, has been selected as April 2011
choral director Mentor of the Month by the Music Educators National
Conference.
The conference an organization compromised of 175,000 music
educators throughout the country. Mentors are chosen for their
musical contributions to their school and community, as well as
their state organizations. During the month, Kranz fielded
questions from directors across the country regarding middle and
high school choral music, music selection, festival organization,
vocal coaching and conducting.
In addition during this past month, Kranz was selected by the
Wisconsin School Music Association as the soprano section coach for
the 2011 and 2012 Wisconsin State Middle Level Honors Choir.
WSMA completed auditions for the choir in April, with 3,000
students auditioning for honors positions. One hundred singers will
be selected for the choir, which will perform in Madison, Wis. in
October for the Wisconsin Music Educators State
Conference.
