August 6, 2015 by David Avshalomov Leave a Comment

Veteran American composer David Avshalomov is happy to share that he was just listed as a semifinalist in 4 categories in the 2014 American Prize Competition for composition (and still waiting on Chamber Music):

Choral — Psalm 150 with organ and cymbal (“Praise the Lord“)
Orchestral — Pangs of Love (string orchestra, an X-rated piece)
Opera — The Pearl (Steinbeck; showcase excerpts/piano)
Band — Vignettes (10 supershort character miniatures for community bands)

You can hear them all on my website (below), and if you’d like to see a video of the showcase of numbers from the opera that I produced last summer, please ping me privately and I’ll share a private UTube URL to view it (estate book rights limitation).
