LONDON, UK — Members of the South Oxhey Community Choir will
return to television screens across the country later this year,
when viewers will be updated on their remarkable progress.
Founded during 2008 for the BBC’s Choir: Unsung Town
documentary, it has gone from strength-to-strength and remains at
the very centre of the community.
The choir, whose inexperienced members were whipped into shape
by celebrity choir master Gareth Malone, is now entirely
self-funding and boasts some 150 members.
Its enduring success, documented during recent filming, will be
featured in an episode of the latest Unsung Town series, which will
be aired in October.
Former choir chairman Russ Clancy said: “A lot has changed since
the BBC show aired in 2009, people have come and gone and we have
had people that have joined the choir since seeing the
show.”
