I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. Many of you may know me from the recent performance of my “Alzheimer’s Stories” at last years ACDA Conference. One of my primary interest is in creating works that address current issues of social importance. There is probably no issue more important to the survival of this planet today than climate change. Time magazine recently named the 17yo Greta Thunberg Person of the Year for her effort to raise awareness. “Stardate 101” is my cautionary tale of what the future may bring if we don’t take meaningful action. It doesn’t attempt to preach or take a political position but rather show the wonderful things we stand to lose. It’s available in both SATB and SSAA versions with either piano or a small ensemble. There is also an animated video available that may be used to accompany performances. You can see and hear a performance of this work on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmgxWwLrLt4. I hope you will consider programming this work with your chorus. If interested, please contact me at
