Organizers with the games said Monday that the 49-member Gema Chandra Cendrawasih University Choir will depart Tuesday for California by Greyhound bus. The 54-hour journey will get the group to the airport in San Francisco in time for its Friday afternoon flight home.
Games spokeswoman Julie Calvert says the bus trip was the most convenient way to keep the large group together.
The singers missed competing because of travel troubles. They arrived in Cincinnati on the last day of the games with little money and no way home.
Strangers later rallied together by donating money and organizing performances for the group.
