Corinth Holders High School has had to start from scratch to generate their vocal music program. Opened since 2010, the choir program began just last fall with teacher Sarah McLamb at the helm. She soon discovered that Johnston County Schools, as with many schools across the nation, offered limited funding for instructional purposes.
Basic items such as a piano, sheet music, microphones and chairs were needed to get the program off to a good start. McLamb said funds for those items, which also includes performance risers and sound equipment, has to be raised entirely by fundraisers.
