Adrianne Tawa named Teacher of the Year in Cedar City, UT

Tawa said after 11 years of teaching, she greets school days with excitement. She was very surprised when she attended an opening institute for teachers before the school year began and learned that she had been selected to be Teacher of the Year. She remembered thinking there was a teacher somewhere in the district living a life parallel to hers while her background was being described until it included her music background. Tawa is self-described as not usually speechless, but the surprise of receiving the recognition rendered her without words that day.
