A World of Good Music

Did you know that Graphite Publishing currently features scores in thirty-three distinct languages?! Our “Shop Music” page has a nifty filter option that can help connect you to songs written in languages from all around the world.

Dr. Tracy Wong hails from Malaysia and is a choral conductor, music educator, composer, vocalist, and pianist. She advocates for repertoire-based music education by writing pieces that are teaching tools for singers to develop vocal technique, musicianship skills, and artistry. As part of her continued search to define her Chinese-Malaysian-Canadian identity, Dr. Wong’s music also shows the coming-together of different languages and musical elements that continue to influence her composition writing. The oak tree and the cypress

“Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.”

-Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931)

Bonny Portmore

For the Oak and the Ash, they are all cutten down
And the walls of bonny Portmore are all down to the ground.”
