This joyful harvest song may be of interest to choral groups not only within the Jewish tradition, but could prove to be a useful addition to the harvest or thanksgiving repertoire of any choir. The text is taken from World Healing Prayers, with additional text by Linda G Marcus, adapted by the composer. [Sukkos, the Hebrew Feast of the Tabernacles, celebrates the gathering in of the fruitful harvest.]
The setting is for mixed choir (SATB) with piano accompaniment. If desired, a children’s choir may join in, singing with the sopranos, and contributing two short passages of their own (in Unison), but the piece will work equally well with just the mixed choir. See and hear the score here.
