A Meditation

A Meditation  Appropriate for Earth Day, Thanksgiving, or other occasion.

 

Two verses.  Verse 1: This is a vast and frightful universe, erupting forces, distant galaxies, and marked by fiery gloves and ashen worlds with turbulent random bursts of energy.  Our earth is a plot of green and living turf, a place where cool and quiet breezes flow and our home is brown with muddy fields in spring with summer nights and fall’s bright morning frosts. 

Verse 2: Our lives are hurried, fraught with daily care, with frenzy over wrought with pride and wear. More time! More time! Ambition rules the day when discordant voices call us to obey. But earth is a welcome shelter from the storms of cosmic fury, whirling all around. Let us calm our selves, suspend our eager thoughts, and thankful, find that inner peace is found.
