ChoralEd: Fun Vocal Exercises, Part 1

February 1, 2023 by Micah Bland Leave a Comment

As students enter the choral classroom, they often arrive from classes in which they passively listen to lectures or complete bookwork.  In contrast to these uninspired lessons, it is advantageous for teachers to incorporate at least one fun vocal exercise in each rehearsal to promote an enjoyable classroom environment.  ChoralEd, Episode 17 features a demonstration of fun vocal exercises that can be incorporated in the choral rehearsal.  Keep in mind, while these exercises are fun, they also provide opportunities to work on vocal technique.  To view a demonstration of each exercise, click the corresponding link. For additional fun exercises check out Part 2 (ChoralEd, Episode 44).
