This week on GBW and ACDA Radio/ChoralNet Host Stan Schmidt gives us a sneek preview of some of the ACDA Choirs that are headed to the National Convention in Kansas City. As you know from 70 to 80 choirs from our country and abroad will make their way to share their national cultures through choral music. On this visit you will enjoy the following nine choral ensembles: The Kantorei Kansas City with Chris Munce…….The Concert Choir from William Jewell College with Anthony Maglione…….Helena Fojkar Supanči brings the St. Stanislav’s Girls’ Choir from Slovenia ……Then one of our Legacy choral Educators to be honored, Dr. Charlene Archibeque, shares a Spiritual from the San Jose State Choraliers……Joe Miller will guide his Westminster Choir in the Gloria from the Mass for double Choir bv Frank Martin……Then your host salutes Maestro – Charles Bruffy for his consistant work in Choral Education and leading this professioal ensembles to greatness……Seraphic Fire from Atlanta with conductor Patrick Quigley does two compositions by Frank Ticheli and a famous Shaker Tune……Making another appearance is the Ansan City Choir from Korea. Their guide is Shin-Hwa Park. They offer a Charles Stanford Classic and then sing the Angels Choir by John Rutter in Korean to salute Mr. Rutter as the Convention Headliner……The Program will end with three selections by the Iowa State Singers with Dr. James Rodde on the Podium…They will present Regina Coeli by Ambroz Copi, Only in Sleep by Etiks Esenvalds and finally Psalm 100 by Daniel Knaggs in a Premiere Recoding from 2018.
