This week on Going Beyond Words and ACDA Radio/ChoralNet, host Stan Schmidt continues his Advent journey with choral and vocal music from seven countries. Composers represented are Georgi Svridov, Bob Chilcott, Stephen Chatman, John Rutter, Dan Forrest, Giacomo Puccini, Alfred Burt, Enojuhani Rautavaara, Benjamin Britten, Folke Bohlen (Sweden), and Georg Schumann.
The choral ensembles used on this broadcast are Conspirare, vocal group Concert Clemens from England, University of British Columbia Singers, the Cambridge Singers, the Salt Lake Choral Artists, soprano Chen Reiss with the Munich Radio Orchestra, vocalist Maureen McGovern, the Helsinki Chamber Choir, Cappella San Francisco with soprano Danielle Sampson and tenor Jimmy Kansau led by Ragnar Bohlin, plus the Purcell Singers.
