Listen to the Men Sing

Welcome once again to Going Beyond Words on the ACDA Radio Network and ChoralNet.   On this Broadcast we will Listen To The Men Sing.   On stage are groups from Norway, England, Taiwan, Wisconsin, San Francisco, Washington DC, Canada and the Plano, Tx Senior High school A Cappella Choir…..Groups you will focus on are the Vocal Quartet Guattro Stagioni from Norway singing works by Tomkins, Pierre Passereau, William Cornyshe and Orlando di Lasso…the excellent Mens A Cappella Choir from Plano High School present She Walks in Beauty by Connor Kopplin and O Sing Unto The Lord by Dan Davison…these two selections from their appearance at the ACDA Convention in Minneapolis 2017.  The King’s Singers come forth with works by Brahms, Elgar, Libby Larson and George Gershwin.   Then those men from San Francisco lift their voices over the fog to deliver a great Spiritual arrangement by Joseph Jennings.  You will hear a special setting of Ubi Caritas sung by the Taipei Male Choir from Taiwan, China.  The Washington DC Camerata led by Frank Albinder give us The Band Played Waltzing Matilda, then from down under we move to a Waltz by Franz Lehár, Love Unspoken sung by the Singing Statesmen from the UW-Eau Claire.  The broadcast concludes with Watch the Apples Grow, a folk song from Ontario, Canada aired by Choir Leoni of BC Canada.   Have fun Listening!
