Going Beyond Words host, Stan Schmidt takes the time to present another Choral Concert Live for ACDA Radio and Choral Net. Several weeks ago the administrators for Polonia Cantat sent me nine mp3 files of some of the winning choirs that sang in Polish festivals 2011 to 2013. As part of this broadcast you will hear choirs from Latvia, Slovenia, Poland, Sweden and Singapore. Some of the composers represented are Eriks Esenvalds, Romauld Twardowski, Palestrina, Wojciech Kilar, Rachmaninow, Javeir Busto, Orlando di Lasso, Lester Delgado and Budi Susanto……… This visit also contains five selections from the Sioux Falls University Concert Choral led by Dr. David DeHoogh with an original composition by Sioux Falls composer Deanna Wehrspann and a new work by American Composer Timothy Shue. It was recorded at their Spring concert at St. Joseph Cathedral in Sioux Falls. Another treat is the work Lummen by another American Composer Abbie Betinis. It is performed by the Webster University Chamber Choir directed by Trent Patterson. This track was recorded at the recent 7th NCCO convention held at Louisiana State University last November. All in all you will find the diversity of the music and choir very interesting.
