This week on ACDA Radio and ChoralNet, Stan Schmidt, Host of Going Beyond Words begins his 25th year as host of one of the longest running vocal and choral program in the country. Go back 24 years to the first program which began in October 1993. You can enjoy several selections from the first program with a total of fourteen choral works. Including composers from America, Switzerland, England, Germany, Cuba and Canada. Exaudi Chamber Choir from Cuba will offer three selections from a CD they made in Sweden because the U.S. Govt. would not let them come to America and sing for the ACDA. Hear a work by William Mathias written for the Royal Wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana. Dale Warland from a 1994 CD gives us a selection by Georg Shearing’s “Music to Hear”, Blow, Blow Thou Winter Wind, Four Unaccompanied English Songs arranged by John Rutter are sung by the Cambridge Singers. A wonderful piece called, Grandma’s Hands is performed by Pamela Warrick Smith, one of the members of Melodious Accord with Alice Parker rounding out this anniversary program will be Te Deum Laudamus by Canadian Composer Healey Willan.
